Reclaiming Your Rhythm - How You Win the Morning

A Salvador Dali melting clock from the exhibition at Darenburg

The clocks have shifted, the London light is lingering a little longer, and even though we’ve "lost" an hour of sleep, we’ve gained something much more valuable: Perspective.

Coming back from the expansive heat of Adelaide to the buzzing energy of London right as the seasons turn has made me realize that our "day-to-day" isn't something that happens to us. It’s something we curate.

At Eluroom, our brand pillars aren't just design choices; they are survival tools for a vibrant life. Here is how to apply them to your daily rhythm as we "Spring Forward" into the Astrological New Year.

The Golden 20: How You Win the Morning

Did you know the first 20 minutes of your day set the bar for the rest of it.  In this window if time — where your brain is in a highly suggestible, "Alpha" state. If you spend those 20 minutes scrolling through news or emails, you are effectively handing the remote control of your nervous system to the rest of the world.

To live with Insouciance (that lovely, unbothered grace), you have to protect those 20 minutes. They set the "bar" for the next 16 hours. If you start in a state of reaction, you will spend the rest of the day playing catch-up. But if you start in a state of Intention, you move through the world as the Lead Teacher of your own life.

3 Steps to Start as You Mean to Go On

If you want to carry that "Dose of Joy" from dawn till dusk, try this simple three-step ritual tomorrow morning:

  1. The "First Reaction Pause" (No Phone Zone): Before you reach for your phone, reach for your breath. Give yourself just 5 minutes of silence.  TRY THIS …….Place  one hand over the other over your heart and say good morning how are you?  When the urge to check notifications hits, use the First Reaction Pause. Ask yourself: Do I want to be influenced, or do I want to be the influence?

  2. Hydrate & Flow: Drink a large glass of water (bonus points if it’s from your Sparkly Bottle) and move your body for 2 minutes. A cat-cow, a forward fold, or a simple stretch in your kitchen. This tells your brain that you are awake, capable, and fluid.

  3. The Intentional Adornment: This is where our Wearable Magic pillar comes in. Don't just "get dressed." Choose a piece that acts as your anchor. Sliding on the All-Seeing Eye Sweatshirt or a top with the Bird motif isn't just about fashion; it’s about choosing your "protective armor" for the day.

Applying the Eluroom Pillars to the "Everyday"

🌿 Mindset: The Art of Being Unbothered

In London, it’s easy to get swept up in the "hustle." Apply our Mindset pillar by practicing Insouciance during the little things. The Tube is delayed? Fuck it. You’re five minutes late? Pause, breathe, recalibrate. When you refuse to let external chaos dictate your internal peace, you are practicing true freedom.

✨ Effortless Style: Navigating the Transitions

Life is a series of transitions—from the school run to the studio, from a business meeting to a dinner with friends. The Effortless Style pillar is about removing the friction. Wearing pieces that transition seamlessly means you have one less decision to make, leaving more brainpower for the things that actually matter.

👁️ Wearable Magic: Your Visual Mantras

Use your Eluroom pieces as "Pattern Interrupters." When you catch a glimpse of the Butterfly on your sleeve during a stressful moment, let it be a reminder of your own transformation. Let the All-Seeing Eye on your back be a reminder that your intuition is always watching out for you.

The clock change is a prompt to wake up—not just physically, but intentionally. Let’s use this "stolen" hour as an excuse to reset our rituals and start every day with the light behind us.

I want to know: What is the very first thing you do when you wake up? Are you a "scroller" or a "stretcher"? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
