Unpacking Life: From Little Kids to Young Men, and the Dual Joy of a Fresh Start
Moving house is always an upheaval, a logistical puzzle layered with deep, messy emotions. But this time around, as we closed the door on the home that held nearly two decades of memories, the experience was profoundly different. It perfectly mirrored where we are as a family and as a brand: ready for the next big adventure.
The Shifting Sands of Sentiment
The last time we moved, I remember feeling gut-punched and utterly upset. I loved the house we lived in and the place we were moving to was practically a tip think the house from ‘The Young Ones’. We rebuilt it and redorated it to make it a beautiful and desirable home. This time? It was an energy of opportunity and excitement. Instead of sadness, I felt a rush of adrenaline. I am so energized and ready for this new house, eager to tackle new projects and design new spaces. It’s the invigorating feeling of a blank page, and it’s wonderful.
The biggest shift, however, was our "moving crew." When we first settled into our old house, the boys were little — all scraped knees and endless energy that required constant supervision. This move, we had young men on our hands. Instead of worrying about childproofing moving boxes, we had capable adults hauling furniture and debating the best place for the TV. It was a completely different dynamic—less stress over small children, and more gratitude for the strong, young men helping us close one chapter and build the next.
The Eluroom Double Delivery
Of course, no major life event is complete without a healthy dose of professional chaos, right?
Juggling the move while managing the Eluroom added a layer of intensity that kept me on my toes. But the universe has a funny sense of timing. The day before the removal trucks arrived, our new stock arrived.
Suddenly, the house was a storm of boxes and labeling tape, and THB the last thing I needed was more to pack. That said I am so excited for the beautiful new arrivals. That juxtaposition—the feeling of closing the door on our past while simultaneously opening the boxes on my Eluroom future—was amazing. It doubled the excitement!
The Thrill of the New
Right now, we are living between boxes and blueprints. But seeing my new collection lined up— yes it’s the activewear the beautiful textures and colours I’ve been working on for months—next to the clean slate of our new walls is inspiring.
Both this new house and the new stock represent a fresh start. They are blank canvases full of possibility. We get to build new routines, start new traditions, and, most importantly, bring you new, incredible pieces that embody the energy and excitement I feel right now.
It’s an adventure, and I am so glad you’re following along for the ride. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a mountain of boxes (and an exciting new collection) to unpack!

Moving from London to the country at the same time as starting to work from home. Took a few years to adjust but I wouldn’t swap back for all the tea in China. Best of luck to you and Eluroom. Can’t wait to see the new collection ⭐️
